A verified, up-to-date document containing factual claims about your brand (pricing, features, leadership, compliance) used as ground truth for hallucination detection.
A brand truth file is the canonical source of factual information about your brand, used both internally (for content authoring) and externally (for AI hallucination detection). It typically includes: current pricing for all products and tiers, current feature list with descriptions, leadership team with titles and bios, compliance certifications and dates, customer logos with permission status, key dates (founding, Series A/B/C), and any other facts that AI engines might cite. The brand truth file should be updated quarterly at minimum.
Without a brand truth file, hallucination detection has no ground truth to compare against. AEO tools that offer hallucination detection (Scrunch, Lantern V1.5) require you to upload your brand truth file as the comparison baseline. The file also serves as a single source of truth for your content team to ensure accuracy across all marketing assets.
A SaaS company's brand truth file includes: 'Founded 2019; Series B announced March 2024; $30M raised total; Pricing: $49/$199/$499/$999 per month tiers; CEO: Alex Chen since founding; SOC 2 Type II certified November 2024; HIPAA compliant for HealthTech customers.' AI hallucination monitoring compares engine responses against these facts and flags discrepancies.
